Andrea Wagner, FNP-C, has been a nurse practitioner for over 10 years and strives to provide individualized, compassionate care to all patients, regardless of age or background.
Background
Andrea moved to Oregon in high school and learned about the career option of becoming a nurse practitioner while in a medical opportunities class. This was an intriguing idea as she loved a challenge and loved the idea of helping people. Her senior year she traveled to Uganda to work with a local organization helping people in impoverished villages.
Andrea graduated high school as valedictorian and attended George Fox University. During college, Andrea traveled to India where she helped kids in an orphanage, including assisting them to get much needed medical care. This trip confirmed her desire to become a nurse practitioner. She graduated from George Fox with a bachelor's degree in Biology. In addition to a degree, Andrea met and married her husband Brandon Wagner while at George Fox. Andrea graduated with a master's degree from Seattle University's family nurse practitioner program and then started working as a nurse practitioner in Oregon. Most recently, she has served as assistant director and primary care provider for Northwest Human Services.
Andrea and Brandon have three children, Elaina, Natalie and Evan. The Wagners also have a certified organic vegetable farm in Independence and have enjoyed growing healthy food for their community since 2016. When she has time outside of work, Andrea loves to help on the farm, cook great food and be outside biking, running, hiking or camping with her family.
Jacqui Terrill Cooke, FNP-C, CNM, has been a nurse practitioner for nearly 20 years, and loves working with patients and families to improve their health. She believes that each individual is unique and treats them accordingly.
Jacqui strives to serve others the way she wishes to be served, treating others with understanding and lack of judgement, while helping them be their healthiest self. She combines this expert, compassionate approach with natural treatments, prevention, and the most up to date research to best care for each of her patients.
Background
Born and raised in Oregon, Jacqui graduated as valedictorian of her class. While in high school, she had the opportunity to spend a summer working in an orphanage in the Dominican Republic, where the health care horrified her, stimulating her interest in the profession. Jacqui attended George Fox University, planning to become a medical doctor in a third-world country, but life changed her goals:
1) She learned about nurse practitioners from a fantastic one and loved the profession more than MDs, so transferred to Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), to complete her bachelors of Science degree in nursing with high honors. And
2) While at George Fox, she met Shawn Cooke, her husband since 1999.
The Cooke family has resided in the hills outside McMinnville since 2004. When she has time, Jacqui enjoys spending times outdoors with her family (gardening, camping, hiking, biking, kayaking, canoing), playing games, doing crafts and learning with her boys, and reading.
Jacqui continues to be passionate about caring for people in need. Years ago, Jacqui helped with the start up of Salem Free Clinic; then in 2011, she worked with a large group of people to establish McMinnville Free Clinic, which opened in March 2013. She resigned in 2020 after years of services as co-chair of the board of the McMinnville Free Clinic.
The prestigious American Academy of Nurse Practitioners State Award for Excellence is granted annually to deserving NPs. Jacqui was honored as the Oregon recipient for 2020.
